SARScene 2012 Presentation

I attended SARScene again this year (see here for last year’s presentation), and gave a presentation titled “Best Practices in Managing Geospatial Data for SAR Teams”.

The idea was to present practical tips on managing “geospatial data” which is a general way to say data like tracks (where the searchers have been), maps (which help us plan a search) and how best to find, use and store data while searching. I was a little worried that the presentation was too basic, but from some of the comments and discussion during the presentation I could tell that while most of the audience knew parts of what I was presenting there was some new stuff in there for everyone.

The presentation contained content from this blog (surprise!). If you’re interested, it was made up of the following blog posts

The slide deck is below.

  1. Thanks for posting this. The accompanying audio would’ve been great, but since all previous material from this blog, I’ll have to settle.

Wish they would’ve done this with all of the presentations at SARScene.
