SARDay 2: Dealing with Death

SARDay 2: Dealing with Death

Over the new years long weekend our team was called out to assist Ridge Meadows SAR for a missing person in Golden Ears Park. Unfortunately the task ended in a fatality. Since I decided to try “vlogging” (Video Blogging) this year, I figured this may as well be where I start so I recorded a few thoughts on how SAR deals with a body – I didn’t go into any great detail so it’s not as disturbing as it might sound.

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Activation in British Columbia:

To activate the CISM team, any SAR volunteer or anyone concerned about a SAR volunteer can call the ECC at 1-800-663-3456 and ask for the CISM Program to be activated. ECC will ask you for a contact name and phone number and a CISM Program dispatcher will call you back to get details and initiate a peer response.
