I was on CBC yesterday talking about winter backcountry safety, This is particularly important given that there were three incidents in the last two weeks.
- Multi day rescue of a skier by several teams in the Kootenays of BC
- Man and his daughter spent the night in a snow cave near Whistler
- Man rescued by Ridge Meadows SAR after a week at the Golden Ears Shelter
It was a very short segment, so no way to get into the topic in depth, more just to build awareness. If you’re reading this and are in need of a resource that does give you in depth information, please see AdventureSmart.ca
